Astros Game Today : Who Threw The First Pitch at
If you wanna watch, maybe can get to astros game live stream reddit and many more.
I was there, and heck, here’s a picture when they sung the national anthem on October 16th:
If you look carefully (I uploaded the high res), you can see a ton of empty seats. Three reasons behind this:
- It’s rush hour. The game after it took me 80 minutes to get to Yankee Stadium via subway. It usually takes 30 minutes, but I physically couldn’t get into any of the cars since they were packed like sardines. I think I finally got on one on the 5th or 6th try.
- Yankee Stadium Security Sucks. It’s been pretty bad the past few years, you basically have an airport screening, and the lines are long. So that is usually another 30 minutes or so to get in.
- A lot of people were still getting food/drinks. Concession lines are insanely long before the game starts, especially if they have to make you something more or less from scratch like a cheesesteak.
It filled up, though. Eventually.
Traffic sucks. It’s start time was right at quitting time. Spectator sports is expensive to begin with, and playoff games are even more expensive. Going to the game, any game, is becoming more of a hassle than what it’s worth. The at home experience is far superior. It’s cheaper, doesn’t require you risk a DUI if you want to have a few beers, doesn’t expose your family to the drunks who did make it to the game and the food is better at home. I really don’t understand why so many people still want to go.
The tv mandated start time of 5pm eastern makes it difficult for people who work to get there and the traffic is unbelievable. It’s already filled up as I write this.
The other thing to remember is that the most expensive seats come with exclusive access to several luxurious restaurants with great views from which to watch. There is no charge except for alcohol. That’s why you will always see empty seats behind home plate.
